On behalf of the Mid-Hudson School Study Council office and the Executive Committee, we extend to the membership our wishes for a successful 2016-2017 academic year.

As students return to our schools and campuses across the 7-county MHSSC region we are reminded that education truly can be the great equalizer, regardless of prior circumstance.  Opportunities provided  by  each of you gives students such a pathway.  It is our hope that each student takes advantage of the opportunities, embraces the opportunities, and succeeds in the opportunities.  As the papers of Thomas Jefferson noted, “An educated citizenry is a vital requisite for our survival as a free people”.

Message from the MHSSC President

Welcome back!  After a “hot” summer of rest and relaxation, we are ready to start the 2016-2017 school year.  The excitement of the first day of school is in the air and schools await the arrival of the students.

As the MHSSC starts this next year it is my privilege to serve beside Robbie Greene, our new executive director.  She is a tremendous asset to the Council and I am looking forward to a very productive year.

Check the dates for Opportunities to learn and attend workshops and seminars that will be offered to our membership.  I’m looking forward to seeing all of you at the annual Awards for Excellence dinner in October.

Have a wonderful start to the school year.

Dr. Nancy M. Hackett
